Science Counselor New Delhi

Starting 2008, the Swiss Secretariat for Education and Research has appointed a Science & Technology (S&T) Counselor in India, located within the premises of the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi. The new position has been established as a mean for promoting Swiss international cooperation, and is enshrined within the Message of the Swiss Federal Council on the promotion of education, research and innovation for 2008.2011.

The overarching goal pursued by the S&T Counselor is to promote Indo.Swiss bilateral cooperation in S&T, among others by networking actors in the two countries and facilitating mobility of researchers; supporting existing and planned activities of Swiss actors in India; and providing specific information on S&T in India to Swiss relevant partners and vice versa. Besides, the Swiss S&T Counselor promotes the visibility of Swiss S&T in India, notably by organizing and supporting specific events and by maintaining close relationships with Indian public authorities.
